Our Design Predictions for 2025
One of the key lessons I learned studying design is that design doesn’t just influence the world around us—it’s also shaped by it. As we look ahead to 2025, I believe that the cultural values and global events of today will set the stage for next year’s design trends. Design trends don’t exist in isolation; they tend to ripple across industries. So, as we see nostalgia, individualism, colour, and sustainability becoming prominent in interior design and fashion, it’s only natural that graphic and brand design will follow suit.
A Move Towards More Thoughtful Design Choices
With the constant talk of the cost of living crisis and the struggles many are facing to enter the housing market or simply have disposable income, I think we’ll see more thoughtful design choices in 2025.
Across graphic, brand, interior, and fashion design, people will lean toward options that speak to longevity, quality, and nostalgia—designs that feel like an investment, something that won’t need frequent updates as trends come and go.

Personality in Design Takes Center Stage
As people begin to see design more as an investment, the desire for personality in design will only grow in 2025. Interior design trends are already showing a shift away from the sterile, white-walled minimalism designed for resale. Instead, people are creating spaces that reflect who they are—bold colours, cozy furniture, and personal touches that turn houses into homes. This shift is already evident in graphic design, and it’s likely to continue into the new year.
The era of black-and-white, sans serif minimalism is fading. In fact, high fashion brands like Burberry have already reintroduced nostalgic elements like their knight iconography and typography. We’re also seeing industries like hospitality embrace retro illustrations and vibrant colour palettes. With trends like ‘Brat Summer’ blending boldness with simplicity, I believe design will continue to move toward more personality and individuality in 2025. This approach makes design more creative and meaningful for clients.

AI's Growing Role in Design
It’s impossible to talk about trends without acknowledging the growing role of AI, and this will only increase in 2025 and beyond. 3D graphics and hyper-realism are on the rise, but with these advances comes a natural push-back. Just as the Arts and Crafts movement once resisted industrialisation and mass production, we’re now seeing a shift towards celebrating human-made designs. There’s increasing value in imperfections—brush strokes, handwritten elements, and textures that highlight the time, effort, and care that went into the creation. In a world driven by AI, I hope the human touch will become more cherished than ever before.
A Creative, Chaotic Mix of Styles
As design becomes more individualistic, 2025 will likely be a year of creative chaos. A mix of styles, colours, and influences will define the design landscape, making it an exciting time to be a part of. We’ll see a celebration of creativity, technology, and sustainability, and design will not only become more innovative but more meaningful too.
